Wedded Bliss

Allan & I were married at Kirknewton House Stables at 3pm on Saturday 16th October 2010.

It was a wonderful day and I am still smiling .....

We spent a lovely relaxing week just outside Beauly, eating & drinking, watching old movies beside a roaring fire and dog walking .... bliss.

We did revisit the McLean ancestral home at Torridon, where I placed wedding flowers on the memorial stone and the old graveyard.

Pete's 22nd Birthday, we all met up for lunch in town. Allan was unwell so didn't make it, but we had a yummy meal.

Wedding plans going well.

Pete's off to London for a stint working, Andy's 1st year at Uni is almost over, Mike's doing well with his music and Tom's gym doing well.

life goes on ....

New Beginnings

A long while has passed since my last post and alot has happened.
The most exciting and happiest is my engagement to Allan. We are getting married in October and a warm peacefullness is how my life feels, so unlike the feelings I have known.

It is amazing to be loved by such a wonderful man and to love him so much without any effort. I wander around with a silly smile and have to keep looking at the lovely diamond on my finger to remind myself this is real!

The boys are all happy for us which adds to the niceness of it all.

Sue & Rob are coming over from Kiwiland to be here with us and celebrate Scottish style.

Allan & I had a nite out at We Will Rock You, loved it and then another nite at Stomp! very cool ...... social calendar clear again for the next decade hehe.

Birthdays

Happy Birthday Tom!

It's November again and so it is the birthday month...... Tom's annual fancy dress at Halloween saw him as a ninja turtle!
Tom, Mike, Pete and I met up at Pizza Hutt for a birthday feast on Sunday.

Andy was away in Dundee with ultimate frisbee! and Allan was golfing up north.

Mike is next, he has a gig at Bannerman's on 16th and flies off to Greece on 18th so not sure when he'll get his Mumma hug ..... Andy is home on 28th and a meal out is arranged for us all !!

Uni, laptop, gym, gigs and vans

Andy is now officially a student!

Allan & I delivered him and his gear to Murano and ate up big at Wagamammas with him. I had to return on Sunday with all the forgotten goods from Thirlestane....and I made it home without using the M8 (an accident closed the M8 for 5hours so I designed another route ....) :-) was touch & go for a while there !

He is enjoying English Lit and ultimate Frisbee .....can't be bad!

Finally Pete got his 21st birthday gift ...a laptop and now is happily involved in mafia wars on FB.....

Tom's new gym www.factorygyms.co.uk opens 9th Nov and it all looks great, he is thrilled that at last it has happened.

Mike's band went off gigging to Denmark and now he is looking for a van to move equipment about......

Allan & I have booked a holiday in Highlands for next summer.

Autumn nights are drawing in and Solo's enjoying chasing ducks, he carries the scar of a recent attack by a Huskie/Cross (maybe a cross huskie!) across his head!

He is such a big softie ...... life is a bit unfair at times even for dogs!

Thinking of Mum .... another year passed

Missing you Mum

13/09/1918 - 04/09/2006

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
