7days to go

Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Weather here is cold windy and wet but hey it's winter and a white Christmas would be fantastic!

Today I'm putting up the tree, so the warm fuzzy feelings will start. I have finished my shopping .... well almost. I finish work on 23rd and have 2 weeks of indulgence ..... yippee! Have a good one ! cheers !

2 weeks til Xmas

It's been all go ...... I was struck down with a horrid chesty bug, that took a week in bed to shift. Andy's 18th was great although by then I had infected poor Mike so he didn't make the night out. Allan, myself, Tom, Pete and Andy celebrated at the Hawk and Hunter, a brilliant night.

Now I am Xmas shopping and counting down til yule time.

Solo has his first Show on 27th December in the Puppy Class. Will be exciting, it's in Bathgate and there is a huge fan club all going along to offer support. Uncle Eddie is also in the Show ..... Crufts here we come!

Before that, is the puppy school Xmas party next week .... fancy dress for Solo hehe
A Xmas night out for the owners too ..... that will be fun!

No sign of house selling so I am still in limbo .....

Autumn daze

I have been having so much fun, wonderful walks in the countryside, teaching Solo to swim, warm cuddles in bed, sunshine and storms.

Everything seems somehow new and quite amazing ......

I am putting this all down to Allan, he has changed my way of looking at things. It's nice and it's calm, and it's full of laughter.

Mike's birthday tea tonight, an Indian feast I think.

Game On!

On Wednesday night Lisa had a beautiful wee baby girl. This leaves me free to enjoy the rugby without being on call ....thankyou Eden.

It will be great fun, who am I backing ? well Scotland of course :-)

Monday 3 November 2008

New beginnings

This weekend I started packing ...... as much for me to face the reality of moving on, as for the boys to do likewise.
It is hard, to keep or discard all the wee treasures collected over time ..... but the process has begun. I do not have full legal confirmation of a sale but I feel it will happen and I should be both physically and emotionally ready for it.

I have another doula babe booked this month due 21st so I am keeping busy!

Tom's birthday was great we all ate too much, but enjoyed !

Puppy School Graduation

Last night Solo graduated from Puppy School! yes I was so proud, he walked to heel off lead the length & breadth of the hall, sat and stayed all perfectly ..... finishing it all by dancing a perfect 'Gay Gordon' with Allan and the rest of his class. A true star! I am wearing his rosette with pride today at work!
This is of course not the end ... oh no, he moves on to the intermediate level of training and Kay is continuing with his Ring Training.

Well done Solo! Big hugs

The birthday season is almost upon me again ..... Tom 26 on Saturday, is getting organized for a Halloween party, fancy dress of course ... he is going as Hellboy! What a hoot seeing his gear, he really is a character love him to bits!
Mike 23 in three weeks, he is arranging to get customized earplugs made, so he can rehearse his metal music without hearing loss..... hope it's not too late!
Andy 18 at the end of November is patiently waiting for the boxed laptop under my bed !

I am starting the celebrations on Saturday night with Tom's BBQ steak and Cake!

I am also on call for the next month, for one of my doula babes expected 7th Nov so it's all go!

Winter approaches

Eddie Reader is my most favorite singer ever ..... Allan gave me tickets to her concert for my birthday. A wonderful gift and such a great concert, the best I have seen her. Thanks Allan Xxx

I have all the accounts balanced and up to date yipppeeeee!

No news on the house selling ..... still waiting!

This morning going to work was so dark and cold .... guess winter is well on it's way. The colours of autumn have been spectacular this year, would have been nice to have had a summer though.

I am going to a 'family night' out with Allan & his family, on Thursday, nice to be included and I am looking forward to meeting everyone.

Solo is getting bigger by the day apparently he is an adolescent now

Sometimes time just stands still

I have just returned to the real world ...... 4 wonderful days up north.

Everything was perfect Solo travelled well and soon got used to the driving and comfort stops, the weather was fabulous, if not sunshine all the time it never interfered with any plans and only added to the atmosphere. The cottage .... home from home ! The drive over to Applecross was just wow! All in all I can't wait to go back.

Allan & I shared a wonderful space together ..... it was a lovely lovely holiday.

Pictures: The traveller, A gate on Skye that I really liked, Flying the flag at Loch Carran, The Road to Applecross.

One more step......

I am waiting ...... maybe not patiently but waiting...... high noon on 10th of the 10th! I may have sold my share of the house and with it achieved independence .....at last! Dare I think it could really happen ..... I will let you know.

Today the sun shines, a wonderful warm autumn day.

Paul & I met up and went for a walk at The Hermitage with Solo, it was brilliant a little deja vu but lovely memories of walks with Zappa. I heard all about Paul & Olya's wedding in Russia sounded a wonderful day good luck to them.

Finished my books. Unfortunately I lost my little white 'Zappa' heart that June and Mandy gave me ... at the Hermitage on Sunday .... I was running with Solo .... I wear the heart on a leather band tied around my neck ...it came undone and was lost, I tried to retrace my path but it was so busy ....anyone could have picked it up. I feel lost without it.

Allan had a lovely golf trip, it's good to have him back.

time passes .....

Original.com - Apple Season

......this could drive you mad ..... it had that effect on me ..... enjoy!

It's been ages since I posted or it seems that way to me. I have been busy .... the accounts are well on their way to being finished, and despite various bugs at the clinic we are all OK at the moment. Well, Mandy came off her bike at Glen Tress and is bruised top to toe, and June is fighting off labyrinthitis. Me I am a strong old horse and seem to be good just now.

Solo had his first swimming lesson at Yellow Graigs Beach on Sunday, a glorious sunny day. Kay, Alistair & their 'girls' Ghia & Cara, Allan, myself and Solo set off, it was a brilliant day the dogs loved it. Solo a little nervous, but as laid back as ever. Kay, in the end was in the tide up to her middle, well almost, must have been freezing! We warmed her up with soup and rolls in lovely wee pub.

I have been reading The Knife of Never Letting Go, it won The Guardian's Best Young Adult Book, this year. I strongly recommend it, Author Patrick Ness. I also have waiting to be read, Towards Another Summer by Janet Frame. She is a NZ writer who won my heart when I was at High School a brilliant writer.

Mandy, Ewan,Allan, Solo & I are off to Plockton for a long weekend. Mandy & Ewan off hill walking & mountain climbing ..... Allan & I have found a couple of lovely seafood restaurants ..... and some nice easy dog walks. I am really looking forward to being away and spending some time with Allan.

Before that though, Allan is away tomorrow for a golfing weekend down south some place....... so I will spend time working with Solo on his 'standing' and clicker training, trying to get some much needed housework done ...oh yes and reading ..... hmmmmmm sounds good to me!

Accounts .....

Picture Solo & Cara
This has been a week of book-keeping, now I have never been good with numbers, however I have the task, part of my job, keeping the 'books' for the clinic ...ho hum, actually it is, or was relatively easy book-keeping ...then came the credit card machine! We started using one in the Clinic in March and now ....... I have just started doing this years books, wow trying to make sense of payments is doing my head in!
June is away on holiday, much needed and well deserved, so I have taken the time to come to terms with the figures ...... Rebecca, at our accountants, has tried to help, but I had to hand them all over to her yesterday ....... apparently she too is having problems phew not just me then!
Take your time Rebecca, I will collect them when they balance!

Solo has moved to the next level in puppy school, he is so good. He is also attending ring classes with Kay. He is getting so big ... I love him to bits and confess he sleeps on my bed ..... wonderful!

I had my car serviced, at last, by Mike, a mobile motor engineer, he even replaced my pollen filter... which I never knew I had!
He seems to have done a good job and it's the little people that deserve out custom rather than big garages!

Another weekend approaches and I am looking forward to a long lie ........ and no accounts!

Puppy Love

....... I am knackered! this puppy stuff may be fun, but it's exhausting ..... photo Solo's Dad

Another lovely week has passed, it rained and rained and then it rained some more. I went for tea with Allan's Mum & Dad and really enjoyed myself, they are fabby folk and made me feel quite special. A walk at the Hermitage with Solo was fun, watching him cope with all the new surroundings, he does well. Allan & I had a quiet night in, watching Kill Bill 1 & 2, we had the house to ourselves such a treat to just relax and do nothing. I have booked myself onto a study day for homeopathy in pregnancy and labour, not till Nov but I am looking forward to it.

Tom home from USA Mike thinking of selling his van .... too expensive to run ... now there's a thought lol, Pete enjoying his last days at the Underbelly, Andy working hard as usual.
I sent away to renew my passport, wow time marches on!

Have a good week.

Sunday 17 August 2008

I can't believe it's August already!!!!

Where has this year gone? maybe it's old age but this year has passed in a flash!
I have dozens of photos ....but have lost the download ...upload connection so ho hum !!!!
Josh ....bless him, has chicken pox poor wee soul so my week is in chaos before it has even begun!

I had an amazing weekend, Allan and I are getting on so well it is a bit scarey everything seems just too easy and calm. We went fora meal at The Affair in Edinburgh, Andy just started there as a waiter and opening night was friday....... brilliant food worth checking out, it's in Hanover St. Friday night was chaotic but hey isn't that what opening nights are all about? I went on a bus! Yep from town home ....and i don't do buses lol ...... how exciting was that!

Saturday, Solo's first walk in the big world......he had his 2nd vaccination last Monday so now the world is his .... Allan and I took him with Kay & Cara & Ghia, Solo's Mum and Grandmum to Cramond beach ...... such fun and Solo was so good ..... slept for hours after, just exhausted with all the new stuff to process!
Allan & I met up with Clanny & Marge for tea at TGI friday then on to the Office Party which Pete had given us tickets for .... a great laugh .....

Sunday, ahhh that'll be today! Allan had a golf competition ...which he apparrently played badly in ..... maybe the double vodkas .... I took Solo a walk to the end of the street and we loved it !

so that's me updated .... off to bed and another week starts ......

love to everyone x

Wednesday 6 August 2008

Back to work

What a fabby 2 weeks holiday that was!

week 2 included my birthday, masses of flowers and gifts and good wishes ... it was nice to be made to feel so special thanks to everyone.

Mike was away to Wacken in Germany for a music festival. Tom is off to Boston to visit Wynter for 2 weeks. Pete has started work as bar manager at Underbelly during the Festival and Andy is delighted with his new job at The Affair a new restaurant opening in town. So it's been busy busy on the family front.
Thanks to Andrew for this poster ..... says it all !

Solo is now part of my life and we have have spent many hours playing together..... pure magic.

I am back at work and Solo is of course now the star of the Clinic, how could you not love him.

I will post photos soon.

Sunday 27 July 2008

1 week .....

Wow what a week .... it has been so fun packed I have to keep pinching myself to be sure I am not dreaming.

The Proclaimers concert at the Castle was really good..... like a big party really.

A BBQ with the boys which was good fun, meeting Ange & Mary for dinner at the Spylaw Hotel, what a nice night that was. Mandy coming over for lunch on Friday was wonderful, I had forgotten how much fun she is and it was lovely to catch up. We will stay in touch now I hope.

Meeting May & Keith, Allan's Mum & Dad was another first and good fun. We took Solo over and he loved them to bits . We sang happy birthday to May and sat in their lovely garden enjoying the evening sunshine.

I took Solo over to play with Halley & Josh on Saturday while Allan played golf. Solo loved the garden and the fun running after Halley ....Josh just wanted to get at Solo but couldn't quite manage ....soon !
Last night we met up with Angie & Dave and enjoyed the decadence of an evening meal at Prestonfield House. Just lovely.
Today Allan has golf, a competition and I am planning on bathing Solo and getting some housework done ..... we will see hehe

Another weeks holiday to enjoy ..... wonderful

Summertime

Congratulations to Paul & Olay who are getting married in Russia at the end of July. I hope they will have a long & happy life together.

Not long now .... I collect my puppy on 20th July at 3pm! How cool will that be. Andy went with me to see them on Saturday, he is excited now.
I have had a brilliant weekend. Friday evening Allan & walked hand in hand along Portobello Beach, it was sunny, no wind and not too many people. It has been so long since I have been on Portobello beach. We talked and laughed as lovers do ...... then starving as we were, went for a yummy steak at 'The Sizzling Scott' in Hanover Street and enjoyed being with each other. Allan surprised me with a present, a heart stoppingly romantic gift.... to me, others may wonder about it....... a mincer! yep a mincer you see I need one to prepare food for my pup and don't have one ...... he thought about it organized it and now I do. Thanks. Saturday was Dr Who!
Sunday I Shiatsu'ed Allan ...... then there was the Tennis .... wow what a match .... Well done Nadal.
Mandy has gone on holiday to Norway for 10 days, I usually speak with her every day, I am already missing her banter. Monday was chaos at the Clinic rescheduling patients as June was unwell, it did however give me time to begin work on the accounts ...... less said the better ...me and numbers !!!
I am again in the battle for money with Mike & Pete ...... wish me luck.

Andy's Night

Andy dressed for his Leavers Night.

It was a lovely ceremony at the High School and yes I did cry .... my baby is all grown up.

I am very proud of him.

Wednesday 25 June 2008

2 birthdays, a BBQ, a course and a bug!

Well it's been all go...... June's birthday was celebrated with a BBQ and that was great fun. The day threatened rain but turned out sunshine all day, 'Sticky Willy' entertained with music and various wee ones played underfoot along with dogs..... just that pure chaos that makes for a nice time.

I spent Friday painting the Clinic, June was away for a long weekend and it seemed like an ideal time to just DO IT! I got most of it done, with the help of various unsuspecting clients lol.

Allan's birthday was celebrated with a lovely evening out at Sweet Melinda's restaurant, yummy fish and even yummier chocolates! It was a really nice night. Things are going in a nice direction for us.

I spent all weekend on a doula course. I admit I was not really looking forward to the experience, but in the end I throughly enjoyed the company and the content. I completed my written assignment yesterday, emailed it and now wait for certification of my doulahood!

that leaves the bug. Somehow somewhere in there I was infected with an achey, coughy, yukky, bug. I woke up on Monday with one eye swollen and feeling as though the Number 27 bus had just hit me!

I am feeling a little better now and thankfully the eye is better. I wonder about what TCM would have to say..... my vision of the future ????

Allan & I visited with the pups, they are developing wee personalities and are just lovely to watch.

Thursday night Andy attends his Formal Leaving Night from school, he has hired a kilt and seems excited. I am going to the 'champagne reception' at the school. I am so proud of him! I will post a photo soon.
