A new life has begun.......

ALONE........ I went to the Royal Lyceum and enjoyed the theatre ..........

I enjoyed it so much I have booked tickets to ........
The Filmhouse showing a season of films on Afganistan . Stray Dogs.
and......

Be Kind Rewind (12A)
I went to see Michel Gondry's last movie "The Science of Sleep" and loved the way it was filmed so am looking forward to this one!

We all need to think about The Olympic Games in China and about how we as a people treat each other.

Washing machines and life.....
Hey there's another weekend gone, now that sounded a bit hohum but hey the washing machine died finally and with 4 adults 3 of whom are male ....... that's a tradgedy! I have another on order .... for Saturday a whole week of dirty washing away!
I also have a ticket ...yep singular, as is my status now, to see Six Characters in Seatch of an Author, on at the Royal Lyceum........ I am looking forward to it .
Scotland's rugby didn't improve on Saturday. June ,Josh and I had a fabby walk in the Botanics on Saturday a glorious sunny day and that was my weekend!

Waitangi Day

New beginnings follow sudden endings.

Somehow at the age of 51 I had, somewhat naively expected to be done with the teenage angst and pains of lost love...... it seems not. 2008 came in with a cold wind of change for me, and just as in Joni Mitchell's song ... ' as one loves more and more will one love less and less' so it was for me.
That heart searing pain of unrequited love followed quickly by the freefall in selfesteem.
It's funny how everything changes so quickly and that emptiness which is a physical pain takes over every moment....and all the questions ... why ...what if ...
Hey we have been very adult and agreed to 'remain friends' ....... even the word friend takes on a new and bitter meaning.
Now I must rebuild myself and my heart. I know it will be a hard slog, but I have no choice. So what next ?
I have been spending more time with my sons, this has proved to be something I had in fact missed, just having a laugh and passing time together.
I am reading ...... another passtime that had been neglected. A Thousand Splendid Suns was fantastic reading, a Xmas gift from Andy my son.
I have painted my kitchen and feel good about that chore accomplished. I have changed the lightfitting in the bedroom, all the little jobs that were put to the side so I could nurture a love that did not grow.
I am growing stronger every day ....... relapses of pain are still common, but they last for shorter times.
I am waiting for the post and hopefully an interview with Stirling Uni to do a return to Midwifery course which will occupy my mind and body for a while.
Wish me luck.

Why is nothing in life simple ?
WOW last night's gig at ABC was fabby.
I recommend everyone checkout Mr Hudson. Beforehand Andrew treated me to a lovely meal at Wagamuma
http://www.wagamama.com/locations_map_gallery.php?locationid=28#id=28&num=1 all very yummy.
When I was leaving Edinburgh, as I took my seat on the train across to Glasgow I was struck with the realisation (caused by the presence of a number of young men in scarves) that Rangers were playing a Championships League match at Ibrox vs Barcelona....... that meant the train home was going to be mobbed!!

......and ho hum it was. Andrew, now choked with my bugs ... I share everything with him, was happy to agree to us leaving the gig early so I could be on 10:30 train rather than the later one.
So I was tucked up in my bed by midnight. I did enjoy being out on a Tuesday night after 9pm maybe I am not too old afterall.
