Monday and the end of March!

Good Morning !

A glorious day here in Edinburgh, sun shining through cottonwool clouds. I have survived the clocks going forward and will luxuriate in the hours of light after work.

So Rangers won ...... what can say? Mandy was chuffed!

Mike and I shared a meal of roast lamb followed by apple /raspberry crumble & cream. I had an uncontrollable urge to cook! Doesn't happen very often these days and I admit to enjoying it. Andy & Pete were both out working but made short work of the remaining food on their return.

Sue & I spent some time talking, it is always wonderful to hear from her. I do miss her.

The world holds it's breath waiting for the election results from Zimbabwe.

Sad News:
The Cambodian photographer whose life story under the brutal Khmer Rouge regime was recreated in the film The Killing Fields has died in New Jersey. Dith Pran, 65, had been ill with pancreatic cancer.

Angus Fairhurst. 1966-2008. One of the original Young British Artists
who blazed such a trail
through the 1990s, has taken his own life in a remote part of Scotland.
He was 41.

I am alone at work today, and although I have Shiatsu Clients it is oddly quiet being in the Clinic without the usual hustle and bustle of comings & goings.

I have started reading Never Cry Wolf by Farley Mowat (pictured), it is a gem. It was made into a film by Carroll Ballard in 1983.

The world keeps turning

My thoughts today are going to .....

The elections in Zimbawe .......

Life expectancy, already only 34 years for a Zimbabwean woman, will continue to fall. Mugabe, who at 84 has lived two-and-a-half times as long as the average Zimbabwean can expect today, says that another six years in power will be the final victory over a "miserable" colonialist Britain, and that Zimbabwe will flourish again with the "empowerment" of its people through the redistribution of white-owned farms.

My thoughts are for all the people trying to make it through their day to day lives and I feel embarrassed that I complain about such silly things in my life.

Earth 60
Lights off for only one hour, wherever you are in the WORLD!
Please take part, it is good to start thinking about our planet......

Old Firm Match
Being a Celtic supporter I am hoping for the three points
.....however in the words of James Traynor in the Daily Record.

If Rangers lose today's Old Firm match at Ibrox the end-of-season demands that have been piling up ahead of them would suddenly appear too formidable.
But should Celtic fail to win there would be little doubt. Their chances of retaining the SPL Championship wouldn't just be thin, they'd be anorexic. Alex Salmond would have more chance of winning Slimmer of the Year.

Mandy is busy on a massage course this w/e, her Rosie Rabbit is well recovered from surgery and has returned to her hutch ... much to Mandy's relief I think.
June is away for the w/e with her family for a much deserved break. I had a great cuddle of not so wee Josh yesterday, now 5 months old and a delight.

I hope everyone has a happy & peaceful weekend .

Happy Easter

A very Happy Easter to Everyone. A cold but beautiful W/E in Edinburgh. I would like to express to the world how proud I am of my four sons and how much I love them.

It has been a lovely calm and peaceful Easter, back to the hustle and bustle of work tomorrow.

Cars ......

I remembered to leave the car at the garage this morning on the way to work. So far so good, MOT time again, but as had a service done just before Xmas thought it would be not too expensive this time!
Silly of me to tempt the Gods like that, I know. OK so I have just come off the phone and at least £400 is to disappear into tyres & brake pads........ what a start to the Easter W/E
Oh Happy Easter !

Photos

I have decided to treat myself ...... yep a rare occasion, but what the hell !
What ? what? I hear you asking, have I done?
I am the proud owner of a

Canon PowerShot A720 (Silver)

yes.... a digital camera....... about time too I hear. Well OK actually yes it is time I moved into the present. I have always loved photography and spent some time even developing my own black and white pictures many years ago. So I am going to start clicking away again for my own self indulgent pleasure ..... I canny wait!
